In 2015, I had the privilege of attending my first US Open. I witnessed Roger Federer and Serena Williams—a stroke of luck with the schedule. While individual tennis matches may vary in stature, the electrifying atmosphere at the US Open is truly unparalleled.

Recommendations
The US Open schedule is thoughtfully designed to feature big-name tennis players across different stadiums.
Arthur Ashe Stadium tends to be the prime spot—it grants access to other areas as well.
When I attended my first US Open, I opted for an Arthur Ashe Stadium reserved seat in the upper bowl. While the view was still impressive, I recommend aiming for the lower bowl or even a courtside seat. The upper bowl can get quite stuffy, especially under the sun.
After catching the first match, take time to wander around and explore the other courts. Each court offers a unique experience.
Day and Night Sessions
For a complete US Open experience, consider attending both day and night sessions.
Spend a day or night at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and then switch to Louis Armstrong Stadium the next day.
The atmosphere varies between the two stadiums due to their different sizes.
Getting to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Grounds
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Grounds are easily accessible via the New York subway system.
From most Manhattan locations, the subway ride takes approximately 32 minutes (with no transfers) from the 5th Ave station.
Head towards Flushing-Main St and get off at Mets-Willets Point—it’s an 8-minute walk from there.
While Uber or taxis are options, keep in mind New York traffic can turn a 35-minute ride into an hour or more. If time is of the essence, opt for the subway.
Where to Stay for attending the US Open
Manhattan offers a plethora of accommodation options. If you’re booking a package, I can tailor recommendations based on your preferred hotel class.
Alternatively, consider staying in Brooklyn, Flushing, or Queens to avoid the Manhattan crowds.
Each borough has its own charm, and the food options are equally delightful.
